contentXXL International GmbH presents Web Content Management (WCMS) and Knowledge Management (KM) solutions for Microsoft SharePoint at CeBIT 2008 (4 – 9 March 2008) in Hannover, Germany. In Hall 4 (Stand A26, Site 40) the international supplier of the Microsoft .NET based Business Content Management System contentXXL shows how users can simply, efficiently and cost-effectively publish data content from Office and SharePoint on the Internet. In addition, new WebParts and solutions will also be presented, e.g. a category based taxonomy extension and a newsletter management application completely based on SharePoint.

At CeBIT 2007, Microsoft introduced the free-of-charge Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) V3.0 and the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS). This was the first time a uniform and comprehensive technological platform for company wide administration of content (Enterprise Content Management) was made available on the basis of Microsoft .NET. At the same time, WSS offered list management, picture and document libraries with versioning control, check-in/check-out and workflow applications, such as a user-friendly, browser based connection of e-mail, alerts and notifications via RSS. MOSS expanded on these functions with performance features in company wide searchs, personalisation, ECM and records management, business process integration and business intelligence.

What started out as a collaboration platform for simply working together with Microsoft Office using the Internet, has, in the meantime, developed into a wide spread solution platform for applications from Microsoft and Microsoft’s partners. For the first time contentXXL offers the visitors at CeBIT 2008, amongst other things, seamless extensions of WSS/MOSS in the realm of Web Content Management and Knowledge Management.

SharePoint Content Published on the Internet
The company shows how Microsoft SharePoint technology based documents and other data can be maintained with Microsoft Office and can very simply and cost-effectively be published on the Internet. Therefore, editors can continue to work with their established SharePoint lists and libraries. Existing functions, such as versioning and workflow with notification of release and publication, can be used as usual.

Published data, such as documents, pictures or other media, can be made available as both attachments and cross referenced in image libraries. Attributes control the publication period and the supply of material in multiple languages. Data compilation can be carried out with Microsoft Office 2007 or alternatively offline with, for example, Microsoft Word, InfoPath, Outlook or Access.

On the other hand, the user profits from the advantages of contentXXL CMS when publishing on the Internet. These include the comprehensive functionality with 50 out-of-the-box modules, support for multiple languages, content relationship management and cost-effective licensing.

SharePoint Content Categorising and Structuring
Effective collaboration over the Internet demands a common understanding of the meaning and connection between the separate information items. This is precisely where the facts come into play: Who is the contact person for a product? Are there alternative products? Where are the fact sheets? When does the training take place?

Besides being able to supply the knowledge and the connections between otherwise isolated content items , contentXXL International SharePoint extensions also offer content presented based on taxonomies (classification systems) and, as the case maybe, ontologically (knowledge networks) organised, classification and categorisation in the form of additional, cross-site navigations. The information is, therefore, easier to manage and access.

contentXXL Solutions Partners Profit from Results
At CeBIT 2008 contentXXL International presents not only new solutions, but also its successful, free-of-charge partner programme. The company offers certified contentXXL solutions partners extensive business and technical support, such as attractive leads and special terms for those implementing contentXXL solutions for their own customers. New markets open up for solutions partners – system providers and online agencies – due to the seamless collaboration between contentXXL CMS and Microsoft SharePoint.
