Description

Optimizing the visibility of up-to-date content is an important success criterium in the competition for visits and pageviews. A Content Management System provides the best conditions for meeting these requirements. But merely providing information is not enough; it must be found as well. Internet users usually work with search engines to find interesting content.

The Problem

While search engines can easily detect static html pages, which they index and place in their hit lists, this is very often not the case for dynamic websites. As a general rule, search engines avoid dynamically created websites in the internet by a wide margin. Where the "web crawler" doesn’t find any finished static html documents it abandons any further search and only lists the index page in its directory. The reason for this: parameters given in the URL (such as http://www.beispiel.de/info.xyz?para1=wert1&para2=wert2) are not analyzed most of the time. Disenchantment after the successful implementation of such a CMS is then fully justified, since the original aim has not been reached. Valuable content which has been placed with great effort in a Content Management System can still not be found in the internet. The investment doesn't pay.

The Solution

This experience has left its mark in the development of contentXXL. contentXXL appears to search engines as a static application with different directories. News or product pages are found in the preview list as well as in detail view. Once the pages have been accepted by the search engines, the ranking gets top priority. Naturally, everybody wants to be among the first rankings. To get there, it is important to work with the optimal meta tags. In contentXXL, this information (e.g., description, keywords) can be allocated for each individual page. Important information following, for example, from the context of an article preview text are taken up dynamically in the meta tag keyword listing.
Multiple publication of contents under different subjects on a website (e. g., for different target groups) increases the chances for a good ranking. This is also valid for Content Relationship Management. With the multiple cross linking generated this way, the ranking of a site is greatly improved.

In addition, it is possible to take over the key terms from the queries of the most important search engines and to highlight the terms when the user accesses the actual target pages.

In this way it is guaranteed that displayed content does reach the target group.
