Description

With a forum module on a site, users get the chance to contribute content themselves. The user can start new discussion threads or answer already existing ones. Every new entry to a discussion thread is indented. Users can thus follow the discussion easily.

The editor can adjust the design via templates to the site. The webmaster can be informed about new entries via e-mail. So he can delete unwanted entries if necessary. A list of unwanted words (bad word filter) deletes automatically unwanted entries which the webmaster does not want on his site. He is supported by the notification function. The user can also be notified via e-mail about new entries.

These functions comply with the usual demands on forums.

In addition to that, the forum module – like many other modules of contentXXL – is also available as related forum. Here, a discussion is directly assigned to an object (Content Relationship Management). This object can be e.g. an article, a document or a link. If the object is opened in the single view, the user has the option to join the discussion right away. The title will then automatically be the topic. The advantage: if the discussed article or document is additionally published on other sites, the discussion automatically goes with it – also into the archive. Thus, no information will be lost.

With additional modules, e.g. recommendation ("send to a friend") or rating of the content, it is easy to build a lively Intranet. Making such "Integrated Collaborative Environments" (ICE) available entails a definite surplus value for both the webmaster and the user.
