General terms of license

contentXXL is licensed per CPU* and company**.

With one license you can run several separate portals within your company** on one CPU*, even in different language versions. The number of administrators, editors and users is not limited by license. There are no user CALs required.

* Several processor cores (multi-core) are licensed per dual-core. This means, a single contentXXL license can be used on a single-core server or a dual-core server. For example: two licenses are required for a quad-core server.

** Licensing allows the usage of the licensed software exclusively to the the licensee; further usage by third parties, particularly by connected and/or associated companies within groups of companies, independent organisations, authorities or institutions and comparable juristic persons which are associated with the licenser, requires further licensing, unless this was agreed in individual cases in other form explicitly in writing.

contentXXL ASP.NET CMS Basic System

The contentXXL Basic System is basis for the realisation of high-class solutions concerning Internet presences, intranet and extranet portals (closed user groups), microsites, communities / collaboration, knowledge management or enterprise content management. It is possible to build up numerous multi-language portals, e.g. for internationally-active companies or associations.

contentXXL ASP.NET CMS Advanced Modules (optional extensions to contentXXL Basic System)

For special requirements additional components are available, which extend the contentXXL Basic System with powerful modules (functions and data structures). Of course you can individually assort several extensions according to your requirements. contentXXL 3.0 requires .NET Framework 2.0.

contentXXL Server License

For concerns, consortiums or projects where numerous Advanced Modules are needed, we also offer a Server License alternatively to single licenses.

- in addition to the contentXXL Basic System, the Server License contains all contentXXL Advanced Modules available at time of license purchase
- it depends on the number of CPUs* in the physical server
- it is independent of the number of companies or web portals** (see also licensing)

contentXXL Entry Edition

The license is especially suitable for small businesses, organisations, corporations as well as new contentXXL users. It offers nearly all the range of benefits of the contentXXL Basic System at half the price (50% off the license cost of the full version of the Basic System). The only difference to the full version is the limitation to one CPU (core), two users (e.g. administrator and chief editor), no workflow function (for one editor this is unnecessary) as well as one portal/Web presence. In practice, these limitations often represent no obstacles, even for large companies and their Web presence. A later upgrade to the full version and, on request, an extension to the additional Advanced Module is problem free and possible at any time.

contentXXL SharePoint Edition 2007

The contentXXL SharePoint Edition 2007 enables content entered and maintained in Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services or in the Office SharePoint Server to be especially easily and economically published on the Internet, CI/CD-conform and barrier-free. The edition contains the complete functionality of the contentXXL Basic System and the contentXXL SharePoint Connector 2007. Expansion through contentXXL Advanced Modules is possible.

One-time payment of €5,500 per CPU*, SA additional.

Software Assurance (SA)

By purchasing software assurance licensees benefit from future improvements and additional features for the basic system and the licensed Advanced Module. Software assurance includes the provision for free updates / upgrades for 1 year, respectively, for 15% p.a. of the license fee according to the price list as well as access to the contentXXL Partner Portal. The installation of updates / upgrades and possibly required testing and adoptions in projects is not included within the scope of a software assurance. This option can only be purchased together with the license, meaning not at later point in time. The availability of updates and upgrades is only possible within the framework of the software assurance. The software assurance will be automatically extended after the expiration for a further year, unless the licensee has cancelled the extension in writing 6 weeks before it is due to begin.
